Rates & Booking
Beginning counselling is a meaningful decision, and it helps to know what the practical steps look like before getting started. This page provides clear information about session fees, how to use benefits, how booking works, and how virtual care is offered across British Columbia. Whether you’re exploring support for the first time or returning after time away, the goal is to help you feel informed and confident as you take the next step.

Session Fees

Below is a transparent outline of the counselling services offered and their associated rates. These fees reflect the professional designation of a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), standard session lengths, and the preparation and care that supports each client’s wellbeing.
Sessions are available in person in Saanich (Royal Oak) or virtually across British Columbia.
Individual Counselling Sessions — 50 minutes
Fee: $165
A supportive therapeutic space for emotional, relational, or situational concerns including anxiety, stress, burnout, chronic illness, grief, identity-related questions, life transitions, and general mental wellbeing.

Couples or Family Counselling Sessions — 50 minutes
Fee: $180
A supportive therapeutic space for family members to process emotional, relational, or situational concerns.

Complimentary Consultation — 15 minutes
Fee: Free
A brief virtual meeting to determine whether counselling feels like a good fit. This is not a therapy session but an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the process.
What Your Fee Includes
Session fees cover more than the time spent together. They include personalized therapeutic planning, secure record-keeping, referrals when needed, evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, and access to virtual care options.

Where Sessions Take Place
Appointments can be held:
• In person in a private garden office in Saanich (Royal Oak)
• Online via secure video for clients anywhere in B.C.

Virtual and in-person sessions are offered at the same rate.

Using Extended Health Benefits

Many clients choose to use extended health or student benefits to cover a portion of their counselling sessions. Services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) are covered by many workplace and private plans in British Columbia.

Coverage varies by provider. Common questions to clarify with your insurer include:
• Does my plan cover services from a Registered Clinical Counsellor?
• How much coverage do I have per year?
• Is there a per-session limit?
• Do I require a physician referral?
• Does session length matter for reimbursement?

Receipts are issued after each session and can be submitted directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Student Plans (UVic & Camosun)

Many UVic and Camosun student plans include counselling coverage and allow students to access RCC services off-campus. Coverage may apply if you are a student, covered under a family plan, or using a combination of benefits.

ICBC Coverage
If you were involved in a motor vehicle accident, ICBC may fund counselling sessions to support emotional and physical recovery. Coverage may include:
• A set number of pre-approved sessions
• Additional sessions upon request
• Sessions delivered in person or online

If you think you may qualify, support is available to walk through next steps.

Direct Billing & Payment Methods
Direct billing is not offered (with the exception of ICBC cases). Most clients pay for their session and submit their receipt for reimbursement. Payment is processed securely through JaneApp at the end of each session. Accepted methods include credit cards, Visa debit, and MasterCard debit.

If you’re unsure about your coverage, you’re welcome to ask questions before booking. Many clients find it helpful to confirm benefits early so they can plan for their care with clarity.
