Registered Clinical Counselling

In Saanich, Greater Victoria, B.C.

Support Designed for You

I’m Amy Mills-Guest, a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Saanich, serving individuals in Greater Victoria and clients across British Columbia through virtual counselling.

People often come to counselling feeling unsure where to start. You may be carrying stress, grief, anxiety, or a sense that something in your life needs attention but hasn’t yet found words. My role is to offer a steady, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to understand what’s been shaping your experience.

I approach counselling with curiosity, warmth, and deep respect for each person’s pace and story. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel heard and understood, not rushed or judged.

Background, Training, and Credentials

I hold a Master’s degree and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). My training allows me to support individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, burnout, emotional regulation difficulties, depression, family and relationship stress, chronic health challenges, and grief.

I regularly integrate professional development into my work to ensure that the counselling I offer remains ethical, evidence-based, and responsive to client needs.

While credentials matter, I know that what often matters most to clients is how therapy feels. My priority is to create an environment that feels calm, thoughtful, and supportive—one where you can explore difficult topics with care and clarity.

Who I Work With

I work with adults and post-secondary students who may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure how to move forward.

Many of the people I support are navigating:

  • Ongoing stress, burnout, or emotional exhaustion

  • Anxiety, panic, or chronic worry

  • Life transitions or identity shifts

  • Family or relationship complexity

  • Chronic pain or long-term health concerns

  • Depression, low mood, or disconnection

  • Academic pressure and student life stress

Some clients arrive with a clear goal. Others simply know that something feels off. Both are welcome.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative and client-centred. Rather than offering quick solutions, I work alongside you to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and what might help you feel more grounded and aligned moving forward.

I draw from several therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Person-Centred Therapy to support self-exploration in a non-judgmental space

  • Mindfulness-based practices to increase awareness and grounding

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to clarify values and build psychological flexibility

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore internal patterns and parts

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and practical coping skills

Therapy is not about fixing you. It’s about understanding your experience more fully, building self-compassion, and developing tools that support meaningful change over time.

What You Can Expect

In our work together, you can expect to be met with respect, care, and honesty. Sessions move at a pace that feels manageable, with space for both reflection and practical support.

Some sessions may focus on insight and understanding. Others may focus on developing tools you can use in daily life. Over time, many clients notice increased clarity, steadiness, and a stronger sense of connection to themselves and their values.
