Counselling for Women
Many women come to counselling feeling worn down rather than broken. You may be juggling work, caregiving, relationships, expectations, and responsibilities while quietly pushing your own needs aside. Over time, this can lead to exhaustion, resentment, anxiety, or a sense of disconnection from yourself.

Counselling for women offers a space to slow down, take stock, and understand what’s been shaping your emotional world, without pressure to change everything at once.

Sessions are available in person in Saanich and online across Canada.
Common Reasons Women Seek Counselling
Women often seek counselling around themes such as:

-
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
-
Chronic stress or overwhelm
-
Difficulty setting or maintaining boundaries
-
People-pleasing and over-responsibility
-
Self-worth and identity concerns
-
Family-role expectations
-
Relationship strain
-
Life transitions, including career or family changes
These concerns don’t exist in isolation. Counselling provides space to look at how patterns, expectations, and personal history intersect in your life today.
A Thoughtful, Respectful Approach
My approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy. Rather than focusing on what you “should” be doing, we explore what’s actually happening for you—emotionally, relationally, and physically.
Some sessions may focus on understanding long-standing patterns, such as difficulty saying no or prioritizing yourself. Others may focus on practical strategies to reduce stress, regulate emotions, and create space for rest and clarity.
There is no one way to be a woman, and counselling is not about fitting into a role—it’s about reconnecting with what feels authentic and sustainable for you.
What You Can Expect
In counselling, you can expect a steady, non-judgmental space where your experiences are taken seriously. We move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
Over time, many women notice:

-
Greater clarity around their needs and limits
-
Increased confidence in setting boundaries
-
Reduced emotional reactivity
-
Improved decision-making
-
A stronger sense of self-trust
Change often begins quietly, through understanding and small shifts that add up over time.

Therapeutic Approaches
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, adapting our work to what feels most supportive for you. This may include person-centred therapy, mindfulness-based practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
The focus is not on fixing you, but on supporting meaningful, grounded change.
